Job Description

Jefferson Community Health & Life is looking for a Surgery & Specialty Services Manager.
Hours:
36-40 hours per week. (M-F). Hours will vary depending on surgery and specialty clinic schedules. Main hours will be between 7am - 5pm.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of surgical services and specialty clinic operations, including the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Sterile Processing, Oncology services, and the Specialty Clinic where visiting physicians and surgeons provide patient care. Ensures efficient, patient-centered operations across all areas by managing staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource utilization. Collaborates with medical staff, visiting providers, and interdisciplinary teams to support high-quality clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience. Leads strategic planning, process improvement, and program development to enhance service line growth and operational effectiveness.

RN License in the state of Nebraska
ACLS, BLS, PALS
Management experience 3-5 years, preferred Minimum of 5 to 7 years of OR experience, preferred Certification in OR (AORN) preferred Knowledge in Central Sterilization Processing.
ESSENTIAL JOB
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight for Surgical Services, Specialty Clinic, Oncology, PACU, and Sterile Processing to ensure efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care. Manages staffing, scheduling, and workflow across departments to maintain appropriate coverage, productivity, and timely service delivery. Serves as a working manager, maintaining clinical competency and performing direct patient care duties as needed to support operations and ensure continuity of care. Develops, implements, and maintains departmental policies, procedures, and workflows in compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of care. Monitors quality outcomes, patient safety indicators, and service levels; supports and implements performance improvement initiatives and corrective actions as needed. Collaborates with physicians, visiting specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, efficient, and effective patient care delivery. Recruits, hires, orients, trains, and develops staff to maintain a competent and engaged workforce. Provides day-to-day supervision of staff, including coaching, performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement to promote retention and a positive work environment. Conducts performance evaluations and provides ongoing feedback to support staff development and accountability. Manages departmental budgets by monitoring expenses, supply utilization, vendor relationships, and assisting with capital planning. Ensures completion of required operational and administrative functions, including timekeeping, reporting, prior authorizations, and billing-related processes. Ensures departmental compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies, including Critical Access Hospital requirements. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements, standards of care, and quality measures and applies this knowledge to daily operations. Participates in organizational committees, quality initiatives, and planning activities; tracks and reports performance improvement metrics, including Balanced Scorecard measures. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, patient safety, and service excellence; serves as a positive role model for staff. Maintains required competencies and participates in ongoing professional development and education. Performs other duties as assigned.
