Full Job Description Retina Patient Access Coordinator Overview:
Paul Phillips Eye & Surgery Center, a leading provider of ophthalmology services in Hunterdon and Somerset counties, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Retina Patient Access Coordinator to join our team in Flemington, NJ. The Retina Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for enrolling and assisting patients in manufacturer, foundation, and financial assistance programs related to retinal injection therapies.
Responsibilities:
Assist patients in offsetting out-of-pocket costs of retinal injections by investigating and enrolling them in available financial assistance programs. Track patient retinal medication orders and communicate this information to relevant staff within the practice's three locations. Work closely with physicians, staff, patients, insurance carriers, specialty pharmacies, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to help ensure timely access to care and reduce financial barriers. Assist pre-certification department as needed with overflow work or as a back-up. Accurately enter and maintain notes and authorizations in the EHR system. Track and follow up on pending requests, ensuring timely approvals and addressing any issues. Keep patients informed about financial assistance options.
Qualifications:
Confident interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient records and documentation. Excellent follow-up and follow-through with a focus on accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems; NextGen experience is a plus. Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and general computer proficiency. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience in a medical setting, preferably within Ophthalmology. Previous experience with insurance pre-certification and patient financial assistance programs is highly desirable.
Hours:
Part-time hours are 20 per week. Preferred weekday hours are 1pm to 5pm, but we are able to offer some flexibility. Additional hours may be available at times.
