Job Description

Medical Office located in Tenafly, NJ. We are looking for an experienced office administrative assistant to join our energetic team, dedicated to patient care. Insurance Verification and Authorization experience preferred.
Responsibilities will include:
Welcome and greet patients and visitors to the facility in a friendly manner; determines the purpose of the visit; has the patient complete the appropriate paperwork, and informs the Doctor of their arrival Provide appropriate information to those who call the facility; transfer calls as needed Schedule patient appointments, ensure follow-up visits are scheduled as appropriate. Collect patient information and ensure all information is correct including patient's demographics, insurance information, co-pay amount/fiscal responsibility Verify patient's insurance benefits and communicate appropriately with patient regarding in network and out of network fiscal responsibilities. Obtain Authorizations (including use of online portals). Familiarity with Navinet, Availity, Magellen, Novitasphere, UHCprovider. Collect co-payments and post all funds in the EMR/Billing system Record patient information into the EMR/Billing system Prepare documents for the following day's appointments; review for accuracy; provide confirmation calls for upcoming appointments. Filing, faxing and scanning medical records Scan identification and insurance information into the EMR/Billing system Verifies the method of payment for service (Medicare, private insurance, private payer) and collects payment or data as appropriate Practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance with Company policies and HIPAA requirements Maintains facility waiting area, office files and front desk area in a manner that is neat and organized Receives and conveys clear communication in writing, electronically and verbally Attends company and departmental meetings as required Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have the ability to take initiative, and demonstrate excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. Must have excellent telephone skills. Must be flexible; able to accommodate the changing needs of the facility. Must have basic math skills; must be able to use standard office equipment. Must be Organized. Must be able to Multitask. Must be able to effectively use computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint).

$20-25 per hour.
