Our Oncology practice is looking for a Treatment Coordinator for our Central New Jersey location. The ideal candidate would be expected to float as needed to support our Central Jersey offices, including Monroe, East Brunswick, Robbinsville, and Somerset.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for scheduling all patient appointments and oral teaches for office visits, laboratory, injections and chemotherapy treatments in accordance with scheduling policies and procedures. Supports all clinical providers. Follows up with billing to ensure the timely scheduling of patient chemotherapy education and the start of all treatments. Assures all scheduled appointments and/or treatments have been pre-certified. Maintains close communication with supervisor, pharmacy and physicians should medication not be approved or should a delay in approval occur. Utilizes effective time management skills to set priorities for all assignments/projects to be completed within required time frames. Greets all patients, families and caregivers and answers the telephone in a professional manner. Accepts and refers telephone calls for assigned members of the staff and answers/assists triage nurses with phones - communicate with clinical staff. Identify if premeds are needed for regimen and bring to attention of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants or RNs. Orders and maintains all medical and clerical supplies and equipment. Checks orders upon arrival for completeness. Ensures that supplies are stored properly. Monitors all inventory. Practices OSHA safety standards. Maintains Universal Precautions. All other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Clerical experience required Knowledge of standard office equipment, i.e. computer, fax, copier and telephone skills required Knowledge of EMR systems (preferably OncoEMR). Must be willing to travel to office sites for coverage.
Pay Range:
$20/hr - $30/hr

The above reflects the anticipated pay range for this position. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
