Job Description

Dining Room Manager (Utility Operator - Scheduling, Toast, Inventory, Expo) Webster's Tavern - Somers Point, NJ About Us Webster's Tavern is a high-volume, sports-driven neighborhood restaurant built for execution. With ~250 seats, 38 TVs, and a fast-paced service model, we operate with one priority: consistent, efficient, high-level hospitality at scale. Position Overview We are hiring a Dining Room Manager (Utility Role) who can move between systems and service seamlessly. This is not a clipboard manager position. You will own scheduling, manage Toast POS execution, assist with inventory controls, and run the expo line during peak service. If you are not detail-oriented, fast, and accountable—this role will not work. Core Responsibilities Build and manage weekly FOH schedules based on sales forecasts and labor targets Execute and maintain Toast POS (menus, modifiers, troubleshooting, reporting) Assist with inventory controls (beer, liquor, key food items) and variance tracking Run expo during peak shifts to ensure ticket accuracy, timing, and food quality Lead dining room service and enforce steps of service standards Monitor labor vs. sales in real time and make adjustments Train and hold staff accountable to performance standards Communicate clearly with kitchen leadership to keep operations tight Requirements Proven restaurant management experience in a high-volume environment Strong, working knowledge of Toast POS (required) Demonstrated experience with staff scheduling and labor management Experience assisting with or managing inventory systems Comfortable working expo in a fast-paced kitchen/service environment Strong organizational and communication skills Available nights, weekends, and holidays What We're Looking For A utility player who can solve problems across the operation Someone who understands both service and systems High standards, low ego, no excuses Detail-driven with a strong sense of urgency Financial awareness (labor, cost control, efficiency) Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Performance-based bonus opportunities Health stipend available Paid time off Growth opportunity as we expand
