We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team and help us continue our mission of transforming lives through better hearing.
Position Overview:
As a Patient Care Coordinator at Reno Hearing Center, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and efficient patient experience. You will serve as the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the practice. This role is critical in helping patients feel comfortable and informed during their hearing care journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Engagement:
Greet and welcome patients both in person and over the phone with a warm, friendly demeanor. Schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and assist in resolving patient concerns.
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate patient records, both digital and physical, ensuring all information is up-to-date and organized. Manage patient insurance documentation and claims.
Appointment Scheduling:
Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and hearing tests with audiologists, ensuring an efficient and well-organized schedule.
Patient Education:
Provide basic information about hearing aids, services, and procedures to patients and guide them through the process of hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings.
Billing and Payments:
Assist patients with billing inquiries, process payments, and handle insurance-related matters accurately and confidentially.
Equipment and Supplies:
Manage inventory of hearing aids, accessories, and office supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained.
Referral Coordination:
Facilitate patient referrals to other medical professionals when necessary and maintain communication between the patient and the referred providers.
Compliance:
Adhere to healthcare regulations, privacy laws (HIPAA), and the highest standards of patient care ethics.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in training and development opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in hearing care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or healthcare-related certification is a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on patient satisfaction. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn and use practice management software. Knowledge of healthcare administrative processes, including insurance and billing, is an advantage. Compassionate and empathetic with a genuine interest in helping individuals with hearing issues. Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role is preferred.
