The Clinical Director ensures the delivery of trauma-informed, evidence-based, and Sanctuary-aligned treatment services that promote safety, emotional well-being, permanency, and positive outcomes for youth and families. This position oversees the implementation and quality of individual, group, and family therapeutic services within residential settings and ensures clinical practices align with regulatory requirements, agency standards, and best practices in child welfare and behavioral health. The Clinical Director partners closely with residential, medical, educational, and program leadership teams to support an integrated model of care across campus programs. The Clinical Director is responsible for supervision and development of clinical staff, oversight of documentation and treatment planning, monitoring clinical quality indicators, supporting crisis response efforts, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The position reports directly to the AVP of Programs. Essential Duties of Director of Clinical Services for Residential Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides clinical leadership and direction for residential treatment services supporting youth and families Oversees implementation of trauma-informed and evidence-based clinical interventions Ensures individualized treatment planning, family engagement, and discharge planning practices are clinically sound and effectively implemented Supports development and implementation of specialized clinical programming based on the needs of the population served Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and effectively supports and aligns with the Director of Residential Services to ensure continuity and integration of care for the youth Oversees clinical documentation standards and ensures compliance with regulatory and agency requirements Monitors quality indicators, audit findings, and treatment outcomes to identify areas for improvement Participates in incident review committee and corrective action processes related to clinical care Ensures clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation are completed accurately and timely Participates in leadership meetings, interdisciplinary collaboration, and agency projects Supports crisis response and clinical consultation as needed Maintains data collection and reporting responsibilities related to clinical services and program performance Primarily weekday schedule with flexibility to respond to program or clinical needs as necessary Participation in on-call or crisis response support (after-hours and weekends) Ability to navigate residential campus environments and respond to emergency situations as needed Supports overall organization strategic plan of the organization Ability to adhere to our organization's core values and commitments. Essential Qualifications of Director of Clinical Services for Residential Key qualifications include: Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related clinical field required NYS clinical licensure required (LCSW, Psychologist, or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical leadership experience, preferably within residential, child welfare, or behavioral health settings Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and family-centered treatment approaches Experience supervising clinical teams and overseeing clinical operations Knowledge of OCFS, Article 29-I, Justice Center, and applicable regulatory standards required Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Valid NYS Driver's License required Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs. Physical/Travel Requirements of Director of Clinical Services for Residential Must have ability to reach, walk, sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend, kneel, and lift up to 20lbs.
