Job Description

As Clinical Specialist / Lead RRT, you will provide managerial and clinical leadership of your assigned team. You will also serve as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability.
  • A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
  • A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Respiratory staff as designated by departmental management.
+ Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff. + Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume. + Participate in continuous quality improvement. + Provide feedback on staff performance. + Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols. + Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team. + Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs. + Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable). + Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable). + If designated as a Technical Consultant by the Blood Gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Associate's Degree and three years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including critical care or a specialty environment +
  • OR•Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience + Graduate of an accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy + Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC + Current licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's Degree •
Physical Requirements:
  • + Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. + Requires normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range. + May require sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Personal Protective Equipment:
  • + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Pay Range
  • Minimum hourly: $30.
41 Maximum hourly: $46.38 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
