General Description:
This position plays a key role in promoting the health and wellbeing of older adults by coordinating congregate meal services, supporting home-delivered meal programs, and fostering meaningful participant and volunteer engagement. Essential Duties Coordinate daily operations of congregate meal sites and support home-delivered meal services. Ensure food is handled, prepared, and served in compliance with health and sanitation standards. Maintain accurate meal counts, participant records, and required program documentation. Recruit, train, and support volunteers; ensure compliance with program and safety requirements. Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants and promote social engagement. Conduct outreach and collaborate with community partners to support program goals. Deliver meals as needed and assist with participant assessments and communication. Support program integrity by following all policies, confidentiality requirements, and mandatory reporting obligations. Minimum Qualifications A qualified applicant will have a minimum of one (1) year of equivalent combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Minimum qualifications may be met through the following: High School or equivalency 1 year of experience coordinating community programs and working with volunteers 6 months food handling experience Other Requirements Food Handler's Permit. Must possess a current Food Handler's Permit or have the ability to obtain one prior to hire. Driving for Agency Business. Positions that require driving must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record. May require proof of personal automobile liability insurance in accordance with ORS Chapter 806 and use of a personal vehicle. Background Check. Strong customer service skills, professional boundaries, and sound judgment in a variety of situations. Work Environment and Physical Demands The work environment includes office, community, and in-home settings, which may have varying levels of cleanliness and repair. Interaction with diverse populations in a variety of settings Work is performed at meal sites and in the community, with regular movement between locations.
