JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Staffing Coordinator assures adequate nursing staffing for 24/7 coverage by utilizing systematic, cost effective methods, providing coverage for all and any gaps. The role provides excellent service to nursing leadership and all nursing staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PRODUCES NURSING SCHEULES
Produces and or receives the schedules two (2) months in advance Reviews all requests for PTO / vacations, and schedules appropriately to coordination with nursing management Posts schedules on scheduling application at least one (1) month in advance
IDENTIFIES SCHEDULING GAPS
Compares schedules to appropriate staffing levels Creates list of all vacant shifts to be filled Assists nursing management team in the management of overtime Contacts per diem, part time, and full-time staff to pick up additional shifts as needed
ORGANIZES WORK FOR QUALITY OUTPUT
Prioritizes as to most immediate need Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling time to meet departmental needs Demonstrates the ability to use available computer systems to access information and increase efficiency Maintains and updates current nursing department call lists on a monthly basis to include staff name, position, phone number and shift availability Creates and utilizes systems to prevent errors Confirms schedules in a timely manner Completes and maintains all necessary documentation to ensure accuracy with staff, per diem pool, an agency personnel
SECURES INFORMATION
Maintains confidentiality relating to all nursing department, staff, and per diem pool issues/concerns Keeps all files/records organized and securely stored including, but not limited to past schedules, staff requests, master schedules, and individual agency binders Maintains all aspects of HIPAA compliance
CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORT
Demonstrates willingness and ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with all levels of staff Keeps appropriate management staff aware and alerted of potential and real personnel concerns Collaborates with appropriate nursing management team members to provide adequate orientation/preceptor time to promote positive staff retention Meets with new and existing staff members as necessary to provide written schedules, assuring communication and performance of job expectations Demonstrates a willingness and ability to acquire new skills and responsibilities Demonstrates awareness when assistance is needed, to complete tasks
