Job Description

The Healthy Living Director at the oversees the development, supervision and administration of the Health & Well-Being programs at the assigned branch. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The incumbent serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting them and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology or related field; required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years successful customer relationship and staff management work experience; required.
  • YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certification or National certification in group fitness instruction (e.g., ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM); required.
  • Personal Training certification through a nationally recognized provider; required.
  • YMCA Healthy Living Online Certification completion within 60 days of hire.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification; required.
  • Excellent relationship building skills coupled with critical thinking.
  • Must be able to multi-task, set priorities effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; required.
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
  • Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
