Pay:
$15-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Job Summary Pendleton Neighborhood Dental is a new, privately owned dental office estimated to open in mid-September 2026 in Pendleton, SC. We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Front Desk Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator to join our team as we prepare to open and build the practice from the ground up. This position is an important part of the patient experience. The front desk team member will help welcome patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, verify insurance, collect payments, and keep the office running smoothly. Our office will focus on honest, patient-centered dental care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. We plan to offer general dentistry, emergency visits, restorative care, crowns, extractions, implants, clear aligners, dentures, and family dental care. Responsibilities Greet patients in a warm, professional, and welcoming manner Answer phone calls, texts, and patient inquiries Schedule new patient visits, emergency appointments, treatment visits, and follow-up appointments Confirm appointments and help manage the daily schedule Collect and update patient information Verify dental insurance benefits and eligibility Present basic treatment estimates as directed by the dentist or office systems Collect payments, copays, and balances Help with billing, claims follow-up, and insurance communication as needed Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially Communicate clearly with the dentist, assistant, and other team members Help keep the front desk and reception area organized Support the clinical team when needed Follow HIPAA and standard dental office privacy guidelines Help create a positive, calm, and professional patient experience Qualifications Dental front desk experience preferred Experience with dental insurance verification preferred Customer service or medical/dental office experience preferred Must be reliable, organized, and willing to learn Strong communication and phone skills Comfortable using computers and learning new software Ability to multitask in a busy office environment Positive attitude and team-first mindset Comfortable working in a new and growing startup environment Bilingual ability is a plus but not required Schedule Our planned office hours are: Thursday to Saturday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Additional weekday hours may be added as the practice grows. We are open to discussing full-time or part-time availability.
