Disaster Management Group LLC (DMG) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support our safety and compliance efforts in Sumter, SC. This role is responsible for monitoring workplace conditions, conducting risk assessments, delivering safety training, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations for company and client requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and experience in incident investigation, hazard control, risk management/risk prevention, and construction safety program compliance. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and processes Assists in Project Compliance with all safety rules and regulations Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ancillary training sessions Assist in hazard identification and implement standard control measures Monitor and report safety performance metrics, trends, and data Assist with Case Management of injuries/illness and familiarity with
OSHA 300
series forms Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI and other applicable safety standards Collaborate with supervisors and employees to promote a positive safety culture Stay current on new and changing safety regulations and best practices Skills & Experienc e Minimum 2 years manager experience in a construction safety role Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Detail-oriented with strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills Experience with working at heights, LOTO, forklift, MEWP, and electrical safety oversight Excellent verbal and written communication abilitie Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other relevant safety standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams Safety certifications Minimum (OSHA 30, EM 385-1-1) CPR/First Aid/AED certification from a U.S. recognized agency valid and current Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not mandatory Additional Expectations Work Conditions May be assigned to day or night shifts depending on operations Extended shifts beyond 12 hours may be required Must remain on-site in austere remote location while deployed • Work will be conducted in tropical (high temperature/high humidity) environmental conditions Safety & Quality Compliance Actively champion DMG's culture of safety, accountability, and excellence. Understand and implement DMG's site specific safety plan, SOP's, safety protocols, and operational procedures and processes Participate in emergency response drills, safety audits, and relevant field committees Conduct daily recordkeeping along with weekly, quarterly, and annual inspections Education Associate's or Bachelor's degree in occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent field safety management experience) NASP, OSHA, FEMA, and BCSP Certifications preferred
