Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Healthcare Chef Manager to lead culinary operations within our nursing home. This vital role combines culinary expertise with team leadership to deliver nutritious, appealing, and safe food services to patients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating exceptional food management skills, strong supervision capabilities, and a passion for hospitality excellence. As a Healthcare Chef Manager, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, safety, inventory control, and staff management to ensure the highest standards of service and compliance are maintained at all times. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of state food service and beverage regulations, with expertise in kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards, inventory management and control, proper food labeling practices, and compliance with all applicable state-mandated requirements. Duties Lead and supervise culinary teams in preparing high-quality meals that meet dietary requirements and nutritional standards. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food production, food service management, and catering activities within the healthcare facility. Manage inventory control and procurement processes to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and controlling costs. Implement and uphold strict food safety sanitizing procedures and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas. Plan menus in collaboration with dietitians and healthcare professionals to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences. Coordinate shift schedules, monitor team performance, and provide training to foster a motivated, efficient workforce. Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety protocols, and sanitation policies to maintain a safe environment for staff and patients. Skills Extensive banquet experience with the ability to manage large-scale catering events within healthcare or hospitality settings. Proven supervising experience managing culinary teams in fast-paced environments such as hospitals or restaurants. Strong background in dietary department operations, including menu planning for special diets and nutritional standards. Expertise in food production, food handling, cooking techniques, and kitchen management. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage shift operations effectively. Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, inventory management, cost control strategies, and food industry best practices. Experience in fine dining or restaurant management is advantageous for elevating meal presentation standards. Ability to oversee food service operations from preparation through serving while maintaining high hospitality standards.
