Role Summary:
The Insurance Verification Coordinator is responsible for coordinating PAP orders from insurance verification through patient scheduling while providing excellent customer service and patient education throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify insurance coverage and confirm in-network benefits for PAP orders
  • Obtain prior authorizations when required
  • Review deductible and out-of-pocket information for patient responsibility
  • Create and review patient estimates within the system
  • Explain insurance billing and machine rental/purchase processes to patients in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Collect patient payments and document appropriately
  • Schedule PAP setup appointments
  • Answer inbound calls and place outbound calls to patients and insurance companies
  • Provide basic education regarding PAP equipment, masks, and therapy expectations
  • Maintain accurate documentation within company systems
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of patient orders and positive patient experiences Other general expectations of the role:
  • Carefully adhere to HIPAA standards and procedures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of our patients' personal and medical information in every interaction.
  • Understand and practice regulatory standards and organization policies and procedures including but not limited to: OSHA, infection control, and patient care policies and procedures.
  • Expected hours are Mon - Fri 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Return all patient telephone encounters within 24 hours of the entry time of the encounter
  • Return all internal telephone encounters to ensure peers receive timely responses to requests.

    Experience:
    Medical preferred, Knowledge of PAP equipment, Comfortable working with multiple systems and managing a high-volume workload, Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Physical requirements: Sitting or standing for long periods of time Light object lifting/moving, up to 20 pounds Additional Essential Skills Proven and advanced use of technology including and not limited to Dual computer screen processing, eClinicalWorks, Bonafide, Niko, Voice over IP Phone system (softphone), Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) Communication - advanced written, typing, verbal and listening communication skills. Ability to function confidently and thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment. Priority management - Able to perform a variety of tasks; often changing from one task to another without loss of effectiveness or composure and be able to perform under stressful conditions when presented with multiple requests in a short time. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office environment is highly preferred. Strong understanding of managed care plans, medical terminology, and medical records management. Familiarity with insurance verification procedures, including the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and insurance portals. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security are upheld at all times.
