Delegation Full Job Description Job Title:
Clinical Director Reports to: Executive Director Position Overview This person is responsible for overseeing, directing, and building the clinical services of Virtue Recovery Center. Specifically, will assist with implementing program changes, assisting in hiring new employees, and administrative duties, while focusing on promoting positive team dynamics and clinical excellence. Most importantly they will ensure clients are receiving quality treatment. Participates in the development and administration of policies on clinical, medical, and business operations, strategic planning, marketing, reputation development, and professionalization of the workforce. Functions Oversee and direct client care and subordinate staff. Prepare and facilitate interdisciplinary treatment planning and meetings. Prepare and facilitate individual meetings with staff. Work with staff to ensure their department is functioning efficiently while also working cohesively with the other departments. Contribute to the growth of the company through brainstorming, planning, and implementation. Work with the Compliance Department to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation. Ensure clinical checks and balances and auditing is taking place to guarantee policies and procedures are being followed. Promote effective communication with clients, their loved ones, staff, and other professionals. Provides and schedules in-service training as needed. Performs on-call duties as needed. Participates in development of long-range strategic plans, governance structure and objectives for practice management. Participates in recruitment and retention of professional and nonprofessional staff. Participates in establishment and implementation of organizational policies and procedures. Interprets policies, objectives, and operational procedures. Participates in the development and implementation of the mission, vision, and values of the Center, including the deliverance of high quality, patient focused health care. Resolves problems related to staffing, utilization of facilities, equipment, and supplies for the Center. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotion, and disciplinary actions of clinical staff. Analyzes and recommends changes in organizational systems, policies and procedures and ensures their implementation. Delegates authority and responsibility as appropriate. Participates in professional development activities to keep current with trends and practices in healthcare administration (conferences, journals). Participates in the evolution and refinement of the quality improvement process at the Center. Undertakes special projects as directed by the ED or Corporate Leadership. Complete chart audits and close out all client charts as required. Provides screening and review of clients to ensure fit in the program and works with treatment team to transfer client to higher of care as needed. Qualifications Holds a master's degree, Ph.D., and or PsyD in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, or relative field, from an accredited college or university. Is an independent license holder in good standing with the Texas Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LCDC or a combination therein. Management experience in a clinical environment required. Possesses at least 5 years clinical and leadership skills. Required knowledge Germain to American Society of Addiction Medicine and SUD treatment.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively with employees, clients and leadership.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills. Basic understanding of Microsoft word suite. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to manually handle patient belongings with gloved hands. Be able to manually assess a patient as part of a physical exam. Reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Speak and have access to the special senses within normal limits (hearing, taste, smell, etc.) as it applies to patient care. Capable of lifting 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
