Job Description

Patient Care Coordinator Full-time

• In person

• Richardson | There may be commute to our other locations as needed We need a Patient Care Coordinator who is the face of the office: greets every patient, answers the phones, and keeps the front desk moving without making anyone feel rushed. This is not a call-center-only job. You will work the front desk in person. What you will do Greet patients and visitors in a warm, professional way Check patients in and out; confirm name, date of birth, address, phone, and insurance Scan photo ID and insurance cards into the EMR Answer, screen, and route incoming calls; take complete messages Return missed calls and clear voicemail Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments Verify insurance eligibility and explain estimated amounts due at check-in Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances; post payments and balance the drawer Keep the waiting room orderly and tell patients if the provider is running behind Send refill and nurse messages; do not give medical advice or read results Follow HIPAA at the desk and on the phone — no PHI in the lobby Help with referrals, authorizations, and forms as assigned Support the team with other front-office duties as needed What we need High school diploma or GED [1] year medical front desk, receptionist, or patient coordination experience preferred Clear phone etiquette and a calm presence when the lobby and the phones are busy at the same time Experience with EMR / scheduling software ([Athena / eClinicalWorks / other]) preferred Comfort with insurance cards, copays, and basic eligibility checks Accurate typing and data entry Reliable transportation; this role is on site What this job is not This is not a remote call-handler role.
