Full Job Description General Summary:
An exempt position responsible for managing the daily operations related to primary care in line with Gonzaba Medical Group's clinical practice standards. Additionally, this role is responsible for providing operational guidance and provides leadership, direction, and support to the clinical staff on patient related issues. Assists fellow employees in providing the highest quality, personalized patient care and maintains a positive working relationship with the health care team. Supports the Gonzaba coordinated care model by working with other GMG providers and support departments/functions to ensure a patient-centered approach is provided at all times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Nursing staff and related medical support staff including LVNs and medical assistants.
General Requirements:
Essential Job Responsibilities:
All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner. 1. Acts as a role model and ensures team compliance with customer service standards. 2. Provides leadership, directions and support to medical assistants and LVN's on the issues of outpatient care, medications, or scheduling. 3. Participates in educational programs as needed. 4. Required flexibility to work at diverse locations as needed, demonstrating adaptability and willingness to travel in support of job responsibilities. 5. Exercise tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. 6. Maintains strict confidentiality. 7. Other duties as assigned. 8. Studies trends and monitors clinic reporting on metrics such as schedule utilization, access, no show rates, and customer service concerns and suggests solutions in collaboration with the clinic leadership team. 9. Monitors clinic RMH and HEDIS scores by utilizing weekly reports to ensure pods are trending towards meeting organizational goals, develops plans to improve scores for anyone not on track. 10. Facilitate key meetings including but not limited to, pod meetings and bi-monthly clinical team meetings. 11. Ensures appropriate clinic staffing for clinical teams and providers. 12. Approves times sheets and PTO requests for clinical support teams. 13. Maintains schedule templates within the EMR by blocking schedules accordingly for meetings and PTO as necessary. 14. Works with department leadership to edit and/or create templates within the EMR based on clinic need or provider requests. 15. Provides direct supervision to nurses and subordinate staff, ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health. 16. Serves as a key problem-solving resource for staff on patient care issues. 17. Maintains the clinic with the proper supplies and equipment. Monitors medical and office supplies to ensure the pods are not over ordering and are within budget prior to approving weekly orders. 18. Oversees clinical nursing care, ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including quality assurance, confidentiality, and medical record documentation. 19. Complies and analyzes clinic budget to prevent overspending, unnecessary costs. 20. Interviews, hires, trains, provides coaching , and terminates clinic staff as needed. 21. Ensures customer service is maintained at the highest level at all times throughout the clinic including the clinical teams, physicians, and peers. 22. This position requires driving a company vehicle or a personal vehicle; therefore, employee must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current valid Texas Driver License, and proof of current insurance to be subject for mileage reimbursement.
Work Environment:
Clinic environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Mental /
Physical Requirements :
Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking. May need to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.

Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a graduate of an accredited LVN program and possess an active and unencumbered TX PN license is required. CPR certification with AED is required and must be kept current. Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience in a medical practice setting. Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience in a family practice setting. Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
Computer Skills :
Skilled in use of computer/EMR systems. Knowledge of Word processing software, spreadsheet software, Internet, and database software.
