Nexus Children s Hospital Market (Houston | Shenandoah | The Woodlands) Position Summary The Market Psychotherapy Services Director provides leadership, oversight, and direct clinical services across Nexus Health Systems Children s Hospital market in the Greater Houston area (Houston, Shenandoah, and The Woodlands locations). This role is responsible for supervising psychotherapy services delivered within the Adolescent Behavioral Programs , ensuring alignment with the Nexus Health Systems clinical model. The Director provides and oversees individual, family, and group psychotherapy services while working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care to children and adolescents with complex medical and psychiatric conditions. The Market Director ensures clinical excellence, program consistency across facilities, therapist development, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based treatment delivery. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight Provide clinical supervision and oversight of psychotherapy services across all Houston market facilities. Facilitate weekly clinical team meetings to ensure consistent communication, appropriate case oversight, and coordinated treatment planning. Maintain a patient caseload as dictated by census while assigning cases based on appropriate clinical match. Lead or co-lead therapy groups weekly based on census and clinical need. Oversee development, implementation, and continuous improvement of group therapy curriculum. Ensure adherence to the Nexus Health Systems Model and Adolescent Behavioral Program standards across all locations. Develop and oversee individualized, evidence-based treatment plans incorporating measurable goals and clinical metrics. Review and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Team Development & Supervision Mentor therapists and provide individual and group clinical supervision. Train new clinical employees within scope and coordinate onboarding with interdisciplinary team members. Ensure supervisees maintain timely and accurate documentation and compliance with clinical standards. Provide ongoing clinical consultation and professional development opportunities. Identify training needs and facilitate in-service education to strengthen clinical competencies. Multidisciplinary Collaboration Collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, medical providers, case management, and leadership to create integrated master treatment plans. Participate in treatment planning meetings, staff meetings, and interdisciplinary case reviews. Serve as a clinical leader within the market, promoting best practices and quality improvement initiatives. Compliance & Documentation Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient documentation, progress notes, and required reporting. Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. Monitor quality metrics and ensure services meet established benchmarks. Additional Responsibilities Attend and facilitate ongoing professional development and training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications Education Master s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related behavioral health field required. Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) preferred. Experience Minimum 3-5 years of direct patient care experience. Experience treating children and adolescents with trauma histories, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and co-occurring medical conditions. Strong background in healthcare, inpatient, or residential treatment settings required. Prior supervisory or program leadership experience in a hospital or residential treatment center (RTC) environment required.
Licensure / Certification
Active Texas licensure as LCSW-S or LPC-S required. Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) preferred. Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI/SAMA or Nexus-approved training) required or must obtain upon hire. Must maintain licensure and certifications in good standing throughout employment. Competencies & Skills Strong clinical judgment and leadership ability. Expertise in evidence-based therapies (TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, trauma-informed care). Ability to manage multiple facilities and ensure program consistency across sites.
