Job Description

The Director is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital's mission, vision, and goals. This role ensures cost-effective operations, aligning resources with business trends and patient needs while driving high-quality, safe patient care. The Director establishes strong working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and vendors, and leads continuous performance improvement through data, staff engagement, and customer feedback. Works collaboratively with senior leadership to achieve facility objectives. Oversees all Surgery, Anesthesia, Pre Op, PACU, Pre Admission Testing and Sterile Processing services. The Director works with all hospital departments to build an effective team to ensure continuous performance improvment.
Required Skills:
Graduate of accredited school or professional nursing.
  • Baccalaureate degree required. Masters degree preferred. Current Texas RN License. Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, DNV and Joint Commission rules and Regulations.
  • Current Texas RN or multistate compact License
  • BLS and ACLS required CNOR preferred
  • Independent decision making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians.
  • Ability to lead customer service by example.
Required Experience:
Five (5) years experience in surgery as circulator and or perioperative services.
  • At least two (2) years experience in surgery management which includes overseeing all operations in a surgical services department of 20+ staff preferred.
