Job Summary and Qualifications The Facility Safety Coordinator serves as a key resource during emergencies, providing leadership and coordination to ensure the hospital remains prepared to respond effectively to internal and external incidents while maintaining a safe environment for all who enter the facility. Facility Safety Coordinator is responsible for: Maintaining life safety standards Lead emergency management committee (emergency management, disaster preparedness planning and incident command activities) Maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including standards established by The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and local, state, and federal agencies Oversees safety and security personnel Managing physical security operations Workplace violence prevention initiatives Monitors access control systems Maintains fire and life safety compliance Maintains Environment of Care (EOC) programs Monitors and creates Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) Collaborates closely with clinical and non-clinical departments, engineering, facilities management, infection prevention, quality, risk management, and local emergency response agencies to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
