Job Description

Join Our Visionary Team at Blacksburg Eye Associates! Are you passionate about patient care and looking for a rewarding career in the eye care field? Blacksburg Eye Associates — a fast-growing, patient-centered optometry practice — is seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. As an essential part of the patient experience, you'll assist in delivering high-quality vision care while working alongside a supportive team of experienced optometrists and professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and prepare them for eye exams Perform preliminary testing (visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, etc.) Assist with contact lens training and education Document patient history and input data into electronic medical records Maintain clean and organized exam and pre-test rooms Support doctors with procedures and diagnostic equipment Educate patients on eye care and eyewear products Handle contact lens ordering and receiving
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a medical office setting preferred (but we're happy to train the right candidate) Strong communication and customer service skills Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities Comfortable with technology and EMR systems Energetic, reliable, and a team player
Benefits:
