Job Description

Valley Community Services Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team as a clinician. ACT provides a multidisciplinary team approach to stabilize and support individuals suffering from Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and/or co-occurring diagnosis. The team clinician will provide direct clinical services to clients in the community setting. This position will provide individualized, family, and group therapy; crisis intervention and safety planning; administer standardized assessments; and provide clinical and diagnostic assessment of individuals to determine treatment needs and goals. The ACT clinician will be a full-time, exempt, position. This position will be a fully participating member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The ACT clinician must at a minimum must have a Master's degree from an accredited university or college with a Department of Health Professionals (DPG) license-eligible program. The ACT clinician must be a licensed mental health professional or licensed eligible. LPC or LCSW preferred. A combination of exceptional clinical and organizational skills is a must, as is experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
Benefits:
Health insurance as low as $40/month for individuals. Family and dependent plans are also available. Sign-on bonus of $2,500. Salary starting at $53,260.88. 14 paid holidays. Accrue up to 20 days of paid time off (PTO) per year from year one. PTO is immediately available upon accrual. Participation in the Virginia Retirement System. Essential Functions:
Conduct clinical assessments, intakes, and diagnostic evaluations Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices Deliver services in community settings to support client independence and recovery Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the ACT team Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and safety planning Maintain a minimum of 50% direct client service time Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and community partners Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in the EHR system Participate in daily team meetings and clinical supervision Ensure compliance with client rights, confidentiality, and regulatory standards
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field License-eligible in Virginia Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain within 90 days) Willingness to provide community-based services and local travel
Preferred:
LPC or LCSW (or working toward licensure) Experience with SMI and/or co-occurring disorders Strong clinical judgment, organization, and documentation skills Excellent communication and ability to engage diverse populations Valley Community Services Board is an equal employment opportunity employer.
