In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for insurance-related matters, ensuring seamless communication between patients, insurance providers, and our clinical team. Your expertise will help streamline insurance verification, claims processing, and patient billing, contributing to an efficient and patient-focused environment. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility using electronic health records (EHR) systems and insurance portals Obtain prior authorization for dental procedures by communicating with managed care organizations and insurance carriers Accurately code dental procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 Process claims efficiently, ensuring compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resubmitting or appealing as necessary to maximize reimbursement Maintain detailed medical records and ensure all documentation aligns with medical billing standards and insurance requirements Provide excellent customer service by explaining insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and payment options to patients when needed Requirements Proven experience in dental office administration, dental office management Strong knowledge of dental insurance policies, managed care processes, and insurance verification procedures Familiarity with medical coding systems including CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) management systems, Dentrix Ascend Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence Ability to handle sensitive dental records with discretion while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies Knowledge of dental terminology related to dental procedures and treatments Creating accurate new insurance profiles and attaching correct fee schedules Join us in delivering outstanding administrative support that enhances patient experiences while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
