Job Description
Job Overview Crossroads Veterinary Clinic, a privately owned small animal practice located in southeast Appleton (Darboy USA), is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator/Veterinary Assistant to join our veterinary team. This role is vital in providing exceptional animal care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal handling, veterinary procedures, and client communication, with a passion for animal welfare. The work schedule for this position will include some days as a Patient Care Coordinator and some as a Veterinary Assistant. Actual hourly wage will depend on experience. Duties Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out. Assist with animal restraint during examinations, and treatments using proper handling techniques. Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Record detailed medical histories, treatment notes, and laboratory results accurately into medical records. Support veterinary staff with laboratory work, specimen collection, medication administration, and basic animal husbandry practices. Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and general animal welfare best practices. Experience Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is required. Strong record-keeping skills with attention to detail in documenting treatments and patient histories. Excellent client communication skills to effectively relay information and foster trust with pet owners. Familiarity with front desk operations such as appointment scheduling and client service. Hours for this position will be between 7am and 6pm Monday thru Friday. Typical shifts are 10 hours per day with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
