Job Description

Job Summary :
The QI Assistant is responsible for assisting the QI Manager in creating, establishing, promoting, maintaining, and/or enhancing Quality Improvement systems throughout the departments of the clinic. Such activities include, but are not limited to, assisting the QI Manager on Quality Improvement training techniques, promoting team work and team effectiveness; monitoring program effectiveness; assisting in preparation for accreditation surveys; assisting and performing audits and studies; processing incidents and grievances; and maintaining an effective outcome-driven Quality Improvement Program.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists the QI Manager in maintaining a comprehensive organization-wide Quality Improvement (QI) program as well as department-specific QI programs, which includes regular peer review activities for licensed personnel. 2. Assists with the maintenance of policies, procedures, and protocols; ensuring regular review and revisions occur. 3. Works with the QI Manager to monitor the effectiveness of project implementation, and provides written and verbal reports of findings to the QI Manager. 4. Provides training and technical assistance requested by clinic staff and at direction of supervisor. 5. Attends training programs and professional meetings as assigned/approved by supervisor. 6. Assists in preparation for AAAHC or other accreditations, and site surveys. 7. Initiate, and collect data for QI reports, patient satisfaction surveys and other QI activities for departments. 8. Attend, and assist in coordination of QI Committee meetings and other staff meetings as they relate to quality improvement. 9. Assists with completion and distribution of the PRHS newsletter; including gathering information, creating articles, printing, and producing address labels for the newsletter to be sent out. 10. Assists departments in creation of health event and news flyers for distribution and via PRHS social media and website accounts. 11. Responsible for consistent and creative PRHS media content thru social media posts and website edits. 12. Responsible for and oversees the Policy Review Committee; including communication with the relevant departments, minute taking, maintaining the policies in the Digital Policy Library, and policy roster/log 13. Responsible for the One Call system, including training, troubleshooting issues and assistance for new and existing staff. 14. Work with the QI Manager on incident response team and assisting in media coverage in case of any incidents that would involve the PRHS incident response team. 15. Oversee incident log and report to the QI Manager if there were any issues that needed to be addressed and followed up on. 16. Assist in running and producing reports through iCare, CRS, and QIP to inform departments on where we can improve the quality of care provided to our patients. 17. Assist the QAssist the QI Manager in the development and maintenance of organization wide QI studies.
Education and Experience:
1. Minimum of one year of college in a Health Science or related field; previous experience in Quality Improvement or Health Science Field may offset degree requirement. 2. Experience with AAAHC is preferred. 3. One year previous and direct experience in the development, implementation, and/or maintenance of an ambulatory care QI program, or equivalent desired. 4. Valid, unrestricted California Driver's License and must be insurable. 5. Position requires occasional overnight travel. 6. Basic computer skills are required; intermediate-advanced computer skills preferred.
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and positions in field, local, State, Federal and private organizations within the health care profession. 2. Ability to develop, present, teach, monitor, and integrate complex data and information. 3. Ability to exercise independent judgment and coordinate a number of projects to meet specified objectives. Maintain detailed records of these activities and projects. 4. Ability to develop, integrate, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures and formulate plan to enhance QI operations. 5. Ability to type notes and prepares written communications 6. Must be able to work in a teamwork setting as well as demonstrate ability to work independently. 7. Must have great customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate cultural competency with the Native American community. 8. The ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor during stressful situations 9. Maintain a current CPR card. 10. Be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening test. 11. Preference will be given to Native Americans in accordance with
P.L. 93-638.
Pay:
$21.76 - $31.43 per hour
