Position Summary:
The Program Manager supports the Director of Programs and Policy by assisting in program implementation, execution, and integration of multiple programs in the organization. A fast-paced environment will motivate you to collaborate with a broader team to achieve significant results. You will be good at building relationships to deliver positive advocacy outcomes that impact East Oakland communities. You will be a self-starter willing to proactively ideate, create, manage, and execute projects solo and in teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Provide direct supervision to assigned program coordinators in matters relating to personnel, finance, and administrative activities. ? Provide oversight to program coordinators in community outreach activities and events while maintaining related relationships with community-based and neighborhood organizations. ? Assist program coordinators to develop, manage, and track budgets and spending. ? Assist program coordinators in the development of reports monthly, quarterly, and yearly to ensure effective compliance with established standards, contracted goals, and objectives. ? Make and recommend personnel decisions, including but not limited to promotion, transfer, and assignment of staff , and imposition of discipline. ? Provide timely and high-quality completion of all program deliverables. ? Use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions affecting the department and staff . ? Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely fashion, as required by contract guidelines. ? Support planning, implementation, and coordination of Medi-Cal and non-Medi-Cal programs and activities. ? Participate in staff meetings, supervision, agency meetings, and staff training. ? Ability to work both on site and in the field.
Requirements:
Competencies:
? A bachelor's degree in public health, business administration, public administration, social work, or a related field or relevant experience required. ? Prior experience in program management, evaluation, project management, team management, community health planning, community organizing, and providing technical assistance. ? Experience conducting community outreach, community organizing, or working with community residents is preferred. ? Experience working in a nonprofit t organization or community clinic preferred. ? Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds; strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. ? Willingness to work a flexible schedule. ? Valid California Driver License with a safe driving record. ? Computer competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. ? Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. ? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities. ? Ability to think quickly, assess a situation, and make a sound decision. ? Ability to manage time efficiently and multitask effectively. ? High level of ethics and personal integrity to work with confidential information. ? Must be able to work on-site full-time.
