Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as the Program Director of Holistic Oncology provides strategic and operational leadership for the development, implementation, and delivery of holistic and supportive oncology services across the cancer care continuum throughout the UCM Cancer Network. This role works in partnership with the Medical Director for Holistic Oncology. This leader will translate holistic care principles into scalable, sustainable service models that are fully integrated into oncology care delivery, with a focus on patient experience, access, outcomes, and value. This role is primarily based on the Hyde Park campus in Chicago, but this leader will occasionally work at other ambulatory sites in the Chicagoland area. Leading a team of Social Workers, Program Coordinator, Recreation Therapist, and Lead Registered Dietician, the Program Director will have the following responsibilities for the Holistic Oncology department: Strategy & Program Development Operations & Infrastructure Financial oversight & Sustainability Integration & Care Model Design Performance, Quality, & Outcomes Governance & Program Leadership Growth, Partnerships, & Community Engagement Who you are: A collaborative and detail-oriented Holistic Oncology operations leader with: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Social Work (MSW), Nutrition/Dietetics, Public Health, Psychology, Health Administration, Integrative Health, or related field. At least 8 years of experience in healthcare leadership, program development, or service line management. Experience in oncology, supportive care, integrative medicine, or population health preferred. Demonstrated success building and scaling holistic oncology programs. Strong operational, financial, and strategic leadership experience. What you'll do as the
Program Director of Holistic Oncology:
Lead system-wide holistic oncology strategy and program development and build scalable supportive care and integrative service models. Develop business plans, growth strategies, and operational roadmaps. Align holistic oncology with enterprise oncology and population health priorities. Design workflows, service delivery models, and access strategies and lead space allocation planning, scheduling, staffing models, and capacity design. Oversee day-to-day operations of the Holistic Oncology Suite in the Cancer Pavilion and lead social work, nutrition, recreation therapy, program coordinators, and other staff as assigned. Partner with other wrap around service area leaders to ensure robust support and service delivery for all services under the Holistic Oncology umbrella. Build vendor partnerships and community collaborations and oversee contracts and external service relationships. Ensure operational readiness for program launches and expansions and develop and manage budgets, financial models, and pro formas. Determine and implement sustainable funding strategies (reimbursement, philanthropy, grants, value-based models). Monitor financial performance and operational efficiency. Partner with oncology leadership to integrate holistic services into care pathways. Design referral workflows and navigation integration. Embed services into survivorship, supportive oncology, and palliative care models. Align holistic services with access, experience, and digital platforms. Define KPIs and dashboards (access, utilization, experience, outcomes, financials). Lead continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrate value, outcomes, and ROI of holistic services. Establish governance structures and operating models. Develop policies, procedures, and administrative standards. Lead cross-functional program management. Build partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, and wellness providers. Support donor and philanthropic engagement strategies including leading outreach, branding, and community integration efforts.
