Job Description

Become Elite in Adult Hearing Aid Treatment AuD Externship | Applied Hearing Solutions | Phoenix & Scottsdale, Arizona Applied Hearing Solutions is seeking two ambitious AuD externs who are passionate about adult hearing healthcare and committed to becoming elite in adult hearing aid treatment . Our externship is built around one goal: developing exceptional clinicians through direct mentorship, hands-on clinical training, and a culture of continual learning. If you're looking for an externship where you'll simply be turned loose to see patients, this probably isn't the right fit. If you're looking for an externship where you'll work side-by-side with experienced audiologists who take the time to teach you, challenge you, and explain the why behind every clinical decision, we'd love to meet you. Learn in a Culture of Clinical Excellence One of the greatest advantages of training at Applied Hearing Solutions is the opportunity to work in a clinic that is fully committed to Comprehensive Audiologic Best Practices . We don't simply perform Best Practices—we continually study them, teach them, refine them, and hold each other accountable to them because we believe they provide our patients with the highest standard of care. We regularly train together, discuss challenging cases, review the latest evidence, and constantly look for ways to improve. As an extern, you'll become part of that learning environment from day one. Rather than simply learning what we do, you'll learn why we do it. Our goal is to develop your clinical reasoning so that when you graduate, you'll have the confidence to make exceptional decisions for your patients throughout your career. A True Mentorship Experience This externship is designed around mentorship. You'll work directly alongside our audiologists throughout your training—not independently without guidance. Every patient encounter is an opportunity for discussion, teaching, feedback, and growth. As your knowledge and confidence develop, you'll receive increasing responsibility while continuing to receive coaching and hands-on instruction every step of the way.
Our philosophy is simple:
Exceptional audiologists aren't developed by memorizing procedures—they're developed by understanding the science, clinical reasoning, and patient-centered principles behind every recommendation. Mentorship with Dr. Cliff Olson One of the unique aspects of our externship is the opportunity to work directly with Dr. Cliff Olson (Dr. Cliff AuD). Because of Dr. Cliff's YouTube channel, speaking engagements, and visibility within the profession, some students initially expect working with him to be intimidating or high-pressure. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. Dr. Cliff is passionate about teaching and genuinely enjoys helping students grow into confident, capable clinicians. He believes that asking questions is encouraged, mistakes are valuable learning opportunities, and understanding the "why" behind clinical decisions is every bit as important as learning the procedures themselves. You'll receive direct mentorship, constructive feedback, and hands-on instruction in a supportive environment where your growth and success are our priority. Our goal isn't to impress you—it's to invest in you and help you become the best clinician you can be. A Proven Path to Employment We view our externship as an investment in future colleagues—not temporary help. Every extern who has successfully completed our program has been offered full-time employment with Applied Hearing Solutions. Our goal is to develop clinicians we'd be proud to welcome onto our team after graduation.
