Job Description

4th year residency position at Center for Hearing and Communication beginning June, 2027 Applications accepted until August 17, 2026. We use a rolling application process and will accept and respond to applications as received CHC is a nonprofit hearing healthcare leader dedicated to empowering people with hearing loss since 1910. This unique facility services all ages ranging from infants through geriatrics. Our center incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to client care including our speech - language department, education department and mental health and wellness department. CHC has an extensive outreach program including community education sessions and mobile unit hearing screenings/evaluations. We currently offer one 12-month 4th year residency position beginning June 2027 at our NYC location in the Financial District. The position offers experience in all aspects of both adult and pediatric diagnostic audiology and management including electrophysiological testing, EI experience, evaluating and fitting of all hearing aid manufacturers, and dispensing of hearing assistive technology (HAT). In addition, the resident will learn to administer and interpret central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) testing and observe our unique tinnitus treatment program including TRT and Lenire. The resident will also fit, verify and validate hearing aids and FM/DM systems for patients of all ages. Our resident will participate in our unique hearing aid orientation course for adults and pediatrics, create and conduct outreach presentations. The resident will further benefit by learning all aspects of a busy hearing aid dispensary including troubleshooting a wide variety of hearing aids and assistive devices, taking earmold impressions, dispensing earmolds and custom hearing protection, and dispensing hearing assistive technology while working in our Berelson Hearing Technology Center.
