Job Description

VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System is pleased to offer one funded audiology externship for the 2027-2028 academic year. The position is a 12-month, full-time (2080 hours) commitment with an anticipated start date in May/June 2027. Our audiology staff includes 9 audiologists and 1 health technician. Audiology services are provided at the Rochester outpatient clinic, Bath VA Medical Center, and Canandaigua VA Medical Center locations. The audiology extern will be based in Rochester and may rotate to both Bath and Canandaigua. The audiology extern will have the opportunity to participate in the following clinical experiences: Hearing evaluations Hearing aid fittings / Adjustments / Repairs Vestibular evaluations (VNGs and Posturography) Cochlear implant evaluations, activations, and mapping Osseointegrated device evaluations and fittings Progressive Tinnitus Management program Electrophysiological evaluations TeleAudiology Inpatient/CLC Services Historically, our position has been funded by the Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA). Although we anticipate funding by OAA for this position, it will be at the discretion of OAA, pending budget approval. Email Laura.
