Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accepting applications for up to 4 audiology externs in the Nashville, TN and surrounding area. This externship will begin on July 1, 2027 and end on April 28, 2028. Funding is to be determined and pending approval. It is anticipated funding will be limited, and some externship offers may be for unpaid positions. Specialized training in autism and developmental disabilities may be available through the Vanderbilt Consortium LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities), pending availability of funds. D. externships are 100% clinical and the placements within the 10-month experience will span the scope of practice of clinical audiology. One of the externships will be exclusively pediatrics, with specialized training in autism and developmental disabilities and implementation science. Audiology has ~50 audiologists, 10 locations, and all clinical supervisors have their CCC-A. All externships will include placements at satellite clinics and, therefore, you will need to be able to transport yourself to those locations. Please note that, once accepted, it is expected that you will fulfill the following criteria to remain eligible: complete all required coursework and competencies of your institution, a minimum of 400 clock hours of supervised clinical experience, and register with TN Board of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
