Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as an Overnight Postpartum Doula, where your compassionate care and expert support will provide new families with the comfort and reassurance they need during the critical postpartum period. In this vital role, you will offer overnight assistance to mothers and infants, ensuring restful sleep, safe feeding practices, and emotional support. Your presence will help foster a nurturing environment that promotes healing, bonding, and confidence for new parents during those precious early hours. Duties Provide overnight care to postpartum mothers and newborns, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the night Assist with infant feeding routines, including breastfeeding support and bottle feeding guidance Monitor and assess the physical and emotional well-being of both mother and baby, responding promptly to any concerns Support mothers with basic postpartum needs such as diapering, soothing techniques, and sleep positioning Maintain detailed records of infant feedings, sleep patterns, and any health observations or concerns Educate parents on infant care practices, physiology, and anatomy relevant to newborn health Collaborate with healthcare providers or family members as needed to ensure comprehensive postpartum support Requirements Proven experience as a postpartum doula or in a similar patient service role supporting new families Strong knowledge of physiology related to postpartum recovery and infant development Ability to perform patient assessment with sensitivity and professionalism during overnight shifts Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to postpartum care and newborn health Experience conducting intake assessments to understand family needs and preferences Solid understanding of anatomy related to maternal recovery and infant anatomy for safe caregiving practices Excellent communication skills to provide clear guidance and reassurance during overnight support This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of new families.
