Night Shift | 5x8 Hours | 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Histology Technician for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate must have strong hospital histology experience with expertise in grossing, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and immunohistochemistry. This position requires an independent professional who can work efficiently in a hospital anatomical pathology laboratory. Responsibilities Perform gross examination and fixation of tissue specimens. Process tissue specimens using automated tissue processors. Embed tissue specimens and prepare paraffin blocks. Perform precision microtomy on routine, fatty, hard, and frozen tissues. Prepare and stain slides using H&E, PAS, Giemsa, IHC, and other special stains. Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) and manual special staining procedures. Prepare frozen sections and operate cryostat equipment. Prepare cytology specimens including ThinPrep, Cell Block, Cytospin, and GYN specimens. Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with laboratory standards. Collaborate with pathology and laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen processing. Requirements Minimum 2 years of Histology Technician experience . Hospital histology experience is required. Grossing experience is required (Hard Stop). First-time travelers accepted only with 10+ years of strong histology experience . Experience with tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, frozen sections, immunohistochemistry (IHC), special stains, and cytology specimen preparation. Epic experience preferred. Associate's Degree in Science required. ASCP-HT Certification required/preferred. California license preferred (pending license accepted).
Schedule Night Shift:
9:00 PM - 5:30 AM Saturday through Thursday schedule. One requested time off (RTO) allowed. Floating to nearby affiliated facilities may be required. Travelers should be willing to work major holidays as needed. BI02
Pay:
