Job Title:

Permanent Histologist Location:

Tallahassee, FL Shift:

9am to 5:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

Processing, embedding, and cutting of tissue specimens Staining and cover-slipping of slides Performing special and immunohistochemical staining procedures Performing frozen section procedures Labeling, correlating, distributing, and filing slides Performing and documenting quality control Reagent maintenance and cleaning of processors and stainersOther laboratory duties as assigned

Requirements:

Experience - Two years' Histotechnician experience preferred. License/Registration - Current Florida Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license or HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required upon beginning the position. You may apply with ASCP certification as that will qualify you for the license.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting, carrying, pushing up to 25 lbs Standing, kneeling, bending Repetitive motion tasks for extended periods Ability to discern color Ability to work with/around laboratory chemicals/fumes
