Position Overview:
The Histotechnologist will perform histology services and provide support for the Artivion in-house pathology laboratory.
Responsibilities:
Properly operate and maintain tissue processing equipment. Prepare microscopic slides by processing samples, embedding into paraffin, cutting blocks on microtome, and routine staining. Perform special histologic stains as requested. Manage pathology laboratory supply inventory. Prepare specimens for return shipment as required. Perform selected gross examinations as assigned. Assist with generating reports as requested. Perform other duties as requested by the pathologist or Medical Director. Must be available to work Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 4:00PM.
Qualifications:
General laboratory experience required. Two years' experience in histotechnology preferred. Skilled in routine and special histochemistry preferred.
