Rotating Shift Description:
•Day shift: 4am-12pm•Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a highly focused Grossing Technician to join our Pathology team. In this role, you will perform all necessary procedures pertaining to accessioning, technical preparation, grossing and dictation of all pathology Surgical & Cytology specimens. This individual must function with a high degree of technical expertise regarding handling of specimens to ensure accuracy of diagnoses made from specimens submitted for evaluation.
What You'll Do:
Completes Gross description and dictation of simple surgical specimens. Picks up pathology specimens from various locations throughout the hospital campus. Assists Pathologists and Pathologist Assistants in the designated procedures Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of Pathology and Cytology preparations and procedures. Displays proper use of required laboratory equipment Assists with basic or designated Histology procedures.
What We're Looking For:
EDUCATION
High school diploma. Two years of college coursework completed (40-60 credit hours) with emphasis in a science curriculum, 12 hours' science credits preferred. Associates of Science, Applied Science preferred.
CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE
Valid CPR certification.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Experience working in Cytology Preparation and/or Histology Processing preferred, with knowledge of medical terminology. Why Join Trinity Health IHA Medical Group?
