Chapel Hill, NC 27514 (CA0201) Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histotechnician to join our team in Chapel Hill, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience in histotechnology and be proficient in preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination. This role is essential in supporting diagnostic and research activities by ensuring high-quality specimen processing. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process tissue specimens using histotech techniques including fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microtomes, cryostats, and automated stainers. Ensure proper labeling and documentation of specimens to maintain accurate records. Follow established protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment. Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen preparation. Perform quality control checks on processed slides to ensure diagnostic accuracy. Qualifications Proven experience as a Histotechnician or similar role. Knowledge of histotech procedures and laboratory best practices. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant certification or degree in histotechnology or related field preferred.
