Position Overview:

As a Mohs Histotechnician/Surgical Coordinator, you will play a critical role in providing both clinical and administrative support to our practice. You will assist in preparing tissue specimens for diagnostic procedures, manage the surgical schedule, coordinate referrals, and perform a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our surgical services. This position is perfect for individuals interested in working in a laboratory setting, no prior lab experience is necessary as we offer comprehensive on-the-job training for the right individuals. Must be willing to travel to all locations where Mohs Surgery services are offered including but not limited to Mooresville, Taylorsville and Statesville.

Laboratory Duties:

Prepare and process tissue specimens for routine and specialized procedures. Perform microtomy and staining of slides according to established protocols. Record, analyze, and document test results accurately.

Surgical Coordination:

Maintain and coordinate the surgical schedule, including referrals to specialists. Assist with surgical preparations and ensure all necessary materials and instruments are ready. Provide pathology results to patients and facilitate follow-up care as directed by the provider.

Administrative Support:

Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient communications. Assist with the preparation of pre-operative and post-operative informational materials. Support clinical admin duties and ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
