Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination, ensuring accurate processing and adherence to laboratory standards. Your expertise will support diagnostic accuracy and contribute to groundbreaking research and patient care initiatives. Hours/Location Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. Working at our Fremont, NE location and our Omaha, NE location. When travel is required during the workday, you are reimbursed for your mileage and paid for your drivetime. Valid driver's license and auto insurance is required. Duties Prepare tissue samples through embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting for histological analysis Maintain precise documentation of all specimen processing steps and laboratory records Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen handling Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment such as microtomes, cryostats, and staining machines Collaborate with pathologists and research teams to optimize specimen quality and processing workflows Follow established laboratory procedures and safety protocols at all times Assist with specimen collection and processing from clinical or research settings as needed Qualifications Prior experience in clinical or research laboratory settings, particularly in histology or pathology Knowledge of laboratory techniques including tissue fixation, embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology concepts Experience with specimen collection, processing, and handling in hospital or outpatient environments Strong understanding of laboratory procedures related to histology and laboratory safety standards Ability to accurately measure vital signs when required for patient-related specimens Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to follow detailed protocols Join our team and play a crucial role in advancing urological diagnostics through precise tissue analysis.
