Full-time or Part-time (minimum 24 hours/week; flexible based on candidate) Company Frontage Laboratories Inc. is an award winning, publicly listed, full-service CRO/Contract Research Organization operating over 25 state-of-the-art laboratories across the US, Canada, and China, growing significant YoY growth. Our core competencies include pre-clinical, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics/ pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), safety and toxicology, bioanalytical services, chemistry and manufacturing controls for drug development, and core laboratory services for clinical trials.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly-motivated, detail-oriented team member to support client-driven projects in the necropsy and histology department. The successful candidate will prepare supplies and materials for both necropsy and histological functions, all in compliance with appropriate SOP, Protocol, and Regulatory Agency guidelines. This position does not require necropsy participation, though optional cross-training opportunities may become arise based on candidate s interest and business needs. The option to train and develop into a full-time necropsy/histology technician may be available based on employee s interest and career intentions.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Health & Safety standards and department policies/procedures in the performance of all duties. Prepare, label, and organize cassettes, slides, and specimen containers. Assist with study setup and material preparation for necropsy and histology. Inventory and organize slides, paraffin blocks, and study materials. Prepare, package, and ship study materials to pathologists or archives in compliance with GLP requirements. Complete handwritten and electronic records clearly and accurately in accordance with GLP documentation standards. Maintain lab organization, cleanliness, and supply levels.
Requirements and Qualifications :
Interest in biology, laboratory science, or veterinary medicine preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain accurate, well-organized records. Comfortable working in a laboratory environment that handles animal tissues and chemicals. Basic computer knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Office), corresponding with essential functions of accurately reading and recording data. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and 50 pounds on occasion. No prior histology or necropsy experience is required.
