Clinical Specialists / Professionals Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histology Technologist to perform routine and advanced histology laboratory procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is responsible for supporting pathology services through tissue preparation, staining procedures, immunohistochemistry, and laboratory quality assurance activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical histology skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining specimen accuracy and integrity. Essential Responsibilities Receive and accession tissue specimens from clinical departments and autopsy services Verify specimen labeling and assign appropriate accession numbers Place tissue specimens in proper fixation materials Assist pathologists with gross dissection and tissue preparation Process tissue specimens for microscopic examination through all required preservation and fixation phases Embed, section, and mount tissue samples onto slides Perform routine and special staining procedures Conduct immunohistochemistry and advanced histology techniques Participate in quality assurance and laboratory data collection activities Ensure proper specimen identification and maintain strict laboratory controls Required Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of: Tissue processing Microtomy Histology staining procedures Immunohistochemistry Tissue differentiation and diagnostic techniques Ability to work with precision and maintain accuracy under pressure Excellent organizational and specimen tracking skills Strong verbal and written communication abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Preferred Experience 1 or more years of histology laboratory experience preferred Education Requirements Associate Degree in Histology or Natural Sciences required Certifications Required Candidates must hold one of the following certifications through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP):
