A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Histotechnician to join its technologically driven histology lab, serving multiple local hospitals, who plays a vital role in supporting complex diagnostic and research needs across the system. If you are interested in learning more please apply ! Responsibilities Understands CoPath related to Histology workflow. Progresses towards working independently in an advanced staining area. Performs QC checks at each phase of processing/ staining Processes and prepares surgical and autopsy tissue specimens for embedding, cutting, staining and coverslipping. Embeds and cuts specialized tissue based on location including minute biopsy protocols. Ensures all tissues are embedded and cut according to department-specific protocols with proper orientation and complete sections including no folds, chatter, artifacts, or floaters. Accurately prepares slides for microtomy using the barcode label in order to maintain correct patient identification throughout the process. Maintains instruments following quality control specifications and daily maintenance protocols. Performs additional tasks such as filing, cleaning, stocking supplies. Requirements Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited HT program within the last 5 years OR an Associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry. 1 year of clinical histology laboratory experience post-training with certification OR 3 years of experience working as Histology Lab Technician or equivalent title without certification. ASCP certification is required within 18 months of hire. Additional Requirements for Sr.
Histotechnician:
2 years of clinical histology laboratory experience post-training with Histotechnician- HT (ASCP) certification is required or 3 years of experience without certification. #M3 #LI-DS1
