A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Histotechnologist to join its technologically driven histology lab, serving multiple local hospitals, who plays a vital role in supporting complex diagnostic and research needs across the system. Responsibilities Accurately prepares slides for microtomy using the barcode label in order to maintain correct patient identification throughout the process. Demonstrate complete knowledge of CoPath related to Histology workflow. Demonstrates progression of skills towards working independently in an advanced staining area. Ensures all tissues are embedded and cut according to department specific protocols with proper orientation and complete sections including no folds, chatter, artifacts or floaters. Maintain instruments following quality control specifications and daily maintenance protocols. Perform QC checks at each phase of processing/ staining Perform ancillary or miscellaneous tasks such as filing, cleaning, stocking supplies. Process and prepare surgical and autopsy tissue specimens for embedding, cutting, staining and coverslipping. Embed and cut specialized tissue based on location including minute biopsy protocols. Requirements Successful completion of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry. One year of clinical histology laboratory experience, training, or experience if not a graduate of an accredited training program is required. ASCP Histotechnologist- HTL certification required within 12 months of hire. #LI-MD2 #M3
