Job Description

Category Laboratory - Histology Job Type Contract Utilize your expertise as a Histologist in a professional laboratory setting where your technical skills and attention to detail will make a difference in patient diagnostics and care. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic work environment and the chance to work with advanced histology techniques and instrumentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
Certification or degree in Histology or a related laboratory science field Previous experience in histology, including sample preparation, sectioning, staining, and slide review Proficiency in laboratory protocols, safety standards, and quality control Familiarity with histology laboratory equipment and reagents Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Schedule:
Full-time hours (specific schedule to be discussed during the hiring process)
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination following established laboratory guidelines Perform embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover-slipping procedures accurately and efficiently Label, organize, and track specimens to ensure proper identification and documentation Operate and maintain histology equipment, troubleshooting minor issues as needed Uphold laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols Collaborate closely with pathologists and other laboratory staff to facilitate rapid and accurate diagnoses Participate in laboratory inventory management and routine equipment calibration
