Opus Pathology Location:

Regional One Health - Memphis, TN Opus Pathology is seeking an experienced Histotechnologist (HT/HTL) to provide rotating on-call coverage, nights and weekends, for donor tissue frozen sections at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled histotech who is confident working independently and experienced with frozen section and digital pathology workflows. Position Summary The Histotech will participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to donor tissue cases requiring frozen section preparation and digital slide scanning for pathologist review. Responsibilities Perform high-quality frozen section preparation on donor tissue specimens Independently cut and stain frozen sections for diagnostic evaluation Scan slides digitally for remote pathologist interpretation Ensure specimen integrity, proper labeling, and accurate documentation Communicate effectively with pathology staff and donor services personnel Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards Qualifications HT or HTL certification preferred Proven experience cutting frozen sections independently Experience with digital pathology scanning systems preferred Ability to respond promptly during assigned call coverage Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Reliable transportation and flexibility for after-hours call-ins Compensation $500 per call-in Rotating on-call schedule Flexible supplemental opportunity for experienced histology professionals Preferred Experience Experience working independently during evenings or weekends Familiarity with digital pathology and laboratory information systems
