JOB SUMMARY
Location HTPN Downtown Dallas TX Department AP Histology Lab Shift Evening 9pm
  • 5am Preferred Experience ASCP HT and or HTL certified with at least 3 years of routine histology IHC and Special Stain Automation CAP experience a must The Histotechnician 3 performs and monitors a variety of anatomic procedures and processes, assumes responsibility for problem resolutions, training others on all aspects of the department with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations. Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures. Recognize and take appropriate action when established procedures and policies are not followed. Perform instrument maintenance, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and troubleshooting as needed. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers. Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities. Demonstrates and educates laboratory principles, technical skills and provide direction to others. Performs all delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director. Assume leadership responsibility in the absence of Supervisor/Manager.

Ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures. Skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Knowledge of safety and infection control standards. Fosters a positive and productive work environment that furthers the quality and effectiveness of patient care.

  • ASCP-Histotechnician (ASCP-HT), ASCP-Histotechnologist (ASCP-HTL): Must have one of the following:
  • ASCP-Histotechnician
  • ASCP-Histotechnologist.
