Job Description

NEW Histology Technician (HT) Opportunity in Northern Vermont - Full-Time | Day Shift Looking to join a high-quality, hospital-based laboratory that truly values its people? A respected healthcare organization is seeking an ASCP-certified Histology Technician to join their Pathology team. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-focused environment with strong leadership and long-term stability.
Schedule:
Full-time (80 hours bi-weekly)
Shift:
6:30 AM - 3:00
PM Pay Range:
$25 - $36/hr
Setting:
Hospital-based laboratory
What You'll Do:
Perform all phases of histology: grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining Prepare high-quality slides for diagnostic interpretation Assist with frozen sections and special stains Perform quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and preventative maintenance Accurately document and manage specimens using LIS systems Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff to ensure efficient workflow Troubleshoot equipment and resolve technical issues Support lab operations including inventory, training, and process improvement
Requirements:
ASCP-certified Histology Technician (HT or HTL) Meets CLIA requirements for high complexity testing Associate's degree (or higher) in chemical, biological, or laboratory science Completion of an accredited Histology training program 1-2 years of histology experience preferred (hospital experience a plus) Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and communication skills
