Job Description

Travel Technician#26-20689 $77.35-$82.35 per hour Richland, WA Onsite Job Description Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Travel Technician for their Richland, WA location.
Responsibilities:
Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. Performs accurate gross description on tissue samples. Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records. Operates all instruments/ equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/ equipment problems. Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution. Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol. Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results. Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System. Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.
Requirements:
Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science. Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours) Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria. Skills in microtomy, processing, embedding, cutting and routine special staining techniques. IHC experience a plus. 5-7 years of experience.
