Job Description

Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is not Necessary but highly preferred Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support, fostering growth and community engagement. Your compassionate approach will help individuals develop essential life skills, promote positive behavior, and enhance their overall well-being. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through active caregiving and support. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation. Support behavioral health needs by implementing behavior management strategies and documenting progress through data collection. Facilitate communication using various methods, including American Sign Language when applicable, to ensure effective understanding and expression. Provide transportation assistance by driving clients to appointments, community activities, or recreational outings while maintaining safety protocols. Administer medications as prescribed, following all safety and documentation procedures accurately. Engage in home and community care activities that promote social integration, independence, and skill development. Collect and record detailed data on client progress, behaviors, and activities to inform care plans and support team collaboration. Qualifications Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with diverse populations. Valid driver's license and clean driving record for transportation duties. Experience with medication administration, data collection, and behavioral health practices is advantageous. $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
